On To Victory narrowly failed to peg back the useful Mount Moriah in the re-running of the prestigious Further Flight Stakes (Listed) at Nottingham on Saturday evening 21st April. He had something to find on official ratings (he was 10lbs wrong with the winner on official ratings) but always travelled strongly and hit the front inside the last furlong just to be denied close home going down by a neck on the line.
He had some very smart contenders trailing behind and will come on a great deal for the run. Eve Johnson Houghton was thrilled and thought Edward Greatrex gave him a great ride. This very exciting horse is still improving and all being well will now go to York for the Yorkshire Cup on Friday May 18th.
He is going the right way and The Racing Post comment in their post-race analysis reads: “He made the favourite pull out all the stops and is a thoroughly likeable type who should enjoy another profitable campaign.”
