Scarlet Dragon contested the Wolferton Stakes on the first day of Royal Ascot for the second year running, but this time ran way below form. He has had two exceptional runs this year in the Dovecote Hurdle and also at Newbury in a very good Group 3 and Alan King has decided to give him a proper holiday. He should then be fresh and well for a run on the flat before resuming his novice hurdling career.
