Scarlet Dragon (pictured right) was Group placed for the third time with an excellent run, having been off 4 months since Royal Ascot, to finish third in the St Simon Stakes at Newbury on Saturday 27th October. He belied his odds of 33/1 and looked as though he came to win his race just before the furlong out, but lack of a recent outing may just have found him out. He is going to resume his very promising career in novice hurdles during the next few months, but in the meantime has a date at Lingfield on Saturday November 17th which is a £40,000 Listed Fast Track Qualifier race time 2.45.
