SWORD BEACH & TOM MARQUAND GIVE THE TEAM A GREAT START FOR GLORIOUS GOODWOOD WEEK
Sword Beach defied many of the pundits and so-called experts with a brilliant front-running performance carrying 10st in the mile and a half handicap at Windsor on Monday evening 26th July. Sword Beach had not won since he was a 2 year old, but last year was handicapped well in to the 80’s and now he has got down to a reasonable mark and the step up in trip has enabled him to show some very good form this year. Tom Marquand gave him a brilliant ride and repelled all comers, having slipped the field just before the 2f marker and going on to give our Owners a well deserved victory, from a horse who in the main has been extremely consistent in most of his races.
